Piccoli grandi libri. Il Petrarca da mano nel Rinascimento
Synopsis
This contribution aims to outline the evolution of a particular book-form, the portable book, within the tradition of the Rerum vulgarium fragmenta be-tween the 15th and 16th centuries. For this purpose, both the manuscript and the printed tradition have been taken into consideration, focusing at-tention on the editorial choices and on the interactions between the two different worlds, that of the codex and that of the press. An attempt was also made, through the analysis of some other elements (such as handwrit-ten annotations, bindings et similia, symptoms of the relationship between this literary work and its readers), to reach a better understanding of the social composition of the audience, and the relationship that the latter had with the Canzoniere.
