Dare un ordine alla «varietà confusa»: la raccolta degli epigrammi volgari del Baldi nei tre manoscritti autografi

Bernardino Baldi’s literary activity, balanced between erudite classicism and taste for poetic experimentalism, also concerns the practice of the Greek-Latin genre of the epigram in the Italian vernacular language: the result of this literary project, protracted for many years, consists of three autograph manuscripts, largely still unexplored, in which the editorial pro-cess, made of increments and remakes, is documented. First of all, the present work aims to show the main specific features of the three manu-scripts and their reciprocal relationships. Secondly, the analysis will focus on different strategies of disposition of the texts in the three manuscripts, in order to show how they shape the general structure of the anthology and the criterium of varietas in different ways.
