Crossing and influences of Italian culture in the formation of the Cuban national theater
Synopsis
In the XIX century the birth of Cuban theater occurred. Among the influences that contributed to the emergence of its own sen-sibility was the presence of important opera or dramatic theater companies, coming from Italy. The consolidation of a national theater in Cuba took place in the XX century and had a true par-adigm in Luigi Pirandello. In his works our creators found the conceptual and structural freedom they were looking for, they found a playful and ironic sense that challenged and simulat-ed them. In the fill of staging, the Italian director who has must influence Cuban theater artists of the late XX century and early XXI century is Eugenio Barb. Since the eighties of the las century, Barba and the Odin Teatret have exchanged intensely with the public and theater artist of the Island.
