The cultural process underlies every reform; the time it takes to bring about a social transformation is closely related to the interests of those who oppose it. It is a process that must first be internalised and shared, and must overcome the resistance of those who oppose it. The Equal Opportunity Committees (Comitati Pari Opportunità) aim at realising the principles of anti-discrimination law, convinced that people's rights must find a place in the civil life of our society. The article will retrace the history of the Equal Opportunities Committees in Italy, from a local point of view, from their origins to the present day, focusing on the critical issues that characterise them and the inequalities that lawyers are called upon to resolve in order to realise equal opportunities in professional activity and social relations.
