About the Press

The series Filosofia e Scienze Umane is edited by the Piero Martinetti Department of Philosophy of the University of Milan and publishes volumes in all areas of philosophy and history of philosophy, as well as in those areas of the human sciences that naturally end up dialoguing with philosophy. The series is open to all philosophical approaches and publishes original research, textbooks, and volumes aimed at the general public.

How book proposals are made

Proposals for new volumes are made exclusively by the Editorial Committee. Proposals are then examined by an expert member of the Scientific Committee, who judges their appropriateness and interest for the Series. If the assessment of the expert member is positive, manuscripts are sent out to one or more external reviewers. The choice of the reviewers is made by the Editorial Committee of the Series, taking into account the experience and specific competence of prospective reviewers. The revision process aims, among other things, at offering to authors an expert opinion, accompanied by suggestions and requests for revision. If the outcome of the revision process is positive, the manuscript undergoes a process of editing. The Editorial Committee ensures that the authors pay due respect to the indications given by the Scientific Committee and the reviewers.
