Synopsis

The fourth MHEO Report, "Economic System and Tertiary Education: AFAM, ITS Academy, and Universities", investigates the intricate relationship between higher education and the Italian economic landscape, with a particular focus on the Lombardy region. In a context increasingly shaped by innovation, specialization, and flexibility, tertiary education emerges as a strategic lever for human capital development and regional competitiveness. Through an interdisciplinary, evidence-based approach, the report integrates qualitative insights with quantitative methods, empirical research, and statistical analysis, offering a nuanced and up-to-date portrait of the system. Special emphasis is placed on the regional dimension, highlighting Lombardy as an advanced laboratory for collaboration between educational institutions and the business sector.
