About the Press

The series is promoted by the Centro di Ricerca Interuniversitario sulle Americhe Romanze (CRIAR), which is based at the University of Milan and consists of five other units at the universities of Padua, Palermo, Salerno, and Venice Ca' Foscari.

Conceived within the multidisciplinary research activity carried out by CRIAR, regarding multiple romance languages and cultural contexts, CRIANDO welcomes research and in-depth reflections related to the 'other' Americas (Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, South America, ethnic-linguistic minorities in the USA) in the fields of literary, theatrical, cultural, historical, and geographical studies, as well as linguistics and sociology.

The aim of the series is not only to disseminate research carried out by professors and young scholars who are part of CRIAR, but also to enrich the catalogue with European and non-European academic contributions, which can be written in Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

CRIANDO is divided into three types of texts: VOLUMI, which publishes monographic studies and miscellanies aimed at reflecting on issues of relevance in the contemporary cultural and literary field; QUADERNI, whose purpose is to share CRIAR’s thoughts and reflections; TACCUINI, which contain translations produced within the LaTina Cartonera publishing project.

The scientific and editorial board ensures the selection process through the application of peer review procedures.
