Author Guidelines

MEIEC Series Series Regulations

This regulation is adopted in accordance with the principles of COPE's Code of conduct for Journal Editors.

  1. Submission of contributions

The request for publication within the MEIEC Series occurs through the transmission of the contribution, drawn up in accordance with the editorial rules designed for the "Impact Report", to the electronic mail address meiec@unimi.it. Contribution proposals for the “Impact Voice” section can also be sent to the same address.

The request must indicate:

  • Author's data, academic and/or professional qualification and contact details;
  • Title, abstract and five key words in Italian and English
  • Declaration that the contribution is the exclusive work of the Author, in compliance with the rules on intellectual property, and that the positions expressed bind the Author exclusively; declaration that the Author has not already published the writing elsewhere. If the writing is intended for publication in a volume or in another paper magazine, this destination, if already known, must be indicated in a note.
  1. Preliminary examination by the Editorial Committee

The Editorial Committee carries out a preliminary selection of the contributions received, in particular, regarding the relevance of the proposed contribution to the themes covered by the Series and its methodological approach, as well as the existence of the minimum requirements for publication, also in relation to the editorial criteria of the Series.

In case of contributions requiring revision, the Editorial Committee can request assistance from the Scientific Committee, suggesting to authors on amelioration of the details in the analysis or clarifications that may allow their publication in a series. In the event of a positive outcome, the Editorial Committee starts processing the contribution, managing relations with the authors and arranging for the collation of the issues.

  1. “Impact Report” section

The Impact Reports drawn up by members of the MEIEC Scientific Committee or within research collaborations between MEIEC and institutions external to the University of Milan are subjected to a simplified evaluation: upon proposal of the Scientific Committee, the Editorial Committee approves and organizes the timing of publication, the drafting of the relevant "Executive Impact" and the possible accompanying of an "Impact Voice".

  1. “Executive Impact” Section

The Editorial Committee has the right to draft or to request to draft an "Executive Impact" contribution on the basis of an "Impact Report" received and deemed interesting for large-scale dissemination.  

  1. “Impact Voice” section

The Editorial Committee is responsible for and deals with the creation of interviews and podcast contents related to economic the economic, social and sustainability impact of phenomena related to current events. The Editorial Committee also receives proposals for contributions in this regard and evaluates them internally, taking care of implementing the proposals received that are deemed suitable and worthy of production. Responsibility for publication resides directly within the Editorial Committee, which shall formulate adequate justification for its decisions.
