“Consonanze” is a book series promoted by the Department of Literary Studies, Philology and Linguistics at the University of Milan. The Series aims to publicize the research conducted by both faculty members and young scholars based at the Department and hosts monographs, edited volumes, and conference or seminar proceedings.

The research fields in the Department cover several disciplines and topics: from ancient history and civilization (in the areas of Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Indian, Greek, and Roman studies) to the Latin and Romance Middle Ages, down to the modern and contemporary Italian literary tradition and its language, all viewed against the backdrop of European culture.

The volumes of the Series delve into the study of texts and documents by looking at their origin and transformation, from the standpoints of history, philology, linguistics, and literary criticism. These different approaches find common ground in the methodological rigour the series ensures through the Editorial and Scientific Board’s selection of texts and the application of peer-review procedures.
