Synopsis

Flexible work contracts have long been a common feature of different legal systems and respond to the need for companies to adapt production processes to the fluctuations of markets. The traditional types of flexible labour contracts have recently been joined by other modes of flexible labour that derive from the digital technologies and the adoption of business organisational models that escape the traditional spatial-temporal coordinates of work.

The present book intends to offer an in-depth examination, through contributions by eminent scholars from both countries, of the disciplines of flexible labour contracts in force in Italy and Brazil, which, if on the one hand are characterised by numerous elements of divergence, on the other hand important numerous points of convergence.
