Privacy Statement
The management of MilanoUP complies with data protection standards, including the provisions of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) of the European Union regarding the "rights of data subjects", which include: (a) breach notification; (b) right of access; (c) right to be forgotten; (d) data portability; (e) privacy by design.
The GDPR recognizes “the public interest in the availability of data", of particular relevance for all those who are committed to guaranteeing, with the greatest possible integrity, the public visibility of scientific research products”.
The collection of personal data relating to registered and unregistered users of the platform is limited to the sole purposes of standard functioning of all peer-reviewed scientific publications. Therefore, only the information indispensable for the evaluation and publication procedures is collected, to inform readers about the authorship and editorial elaboration of the contents, to outline in aggregate and anonymous form the preferences of readers for individual articles, as well as their national and geographical origin. They are therefore used exclusively for scientific communication purposes.
The MilanoUP staff uses the data only to manage the workflow and to improve the formal quality of the texts. The data may be shared in part with the OMP developers (PKP), always in anonymous and aggregate form, with the sole exception of the publication, consultation and download metrics of the contributions. The data will not be used for commercial purposes or for purposes other than those indicated here, neither by the editorial staff, nor by the publisher, nor by PKP.
